The Ovenbird looks much like a small
thrush, but is in fact a warbler. Apart from thrushes, it is most
likely to be confused with either of the waterthrushes (the northern or the Louisiana) that can
occasionally be seen at Magee Marsh. The Ovenbird is not a
terribly common bird at Magee, but can sometimes be spotted around the
second week of May. When it is seen, the bird is typically low,
often foraging on the ground.
